Hi, my name's David, and over the next couple of years I'm going to be building my own underground house here in the Japanese countryside, inspired by the fantasy home of Bilbo Baggins in J.R.R. The hobbit land has turned into a bit of a NIGHTMARE!
So many digger breakdowns, and the rocks just never end! It's starting to look more like the nightmare land of Mordor than a hobbity BagEnd :(

The Japanese Building Department contacted me about my self-created building plans and the result of my building application for the DIY hobbit houses. Did they pass all the structural checks and regulations, or will I need to start again and re-submit them ...
