Hi, my name's David, and over the next couple of years I'm going to be building my own underground house here in the Japanese countryside, inspired by the fantasy home of Bilbo Baggins in J.R.R. The Japanese Building Department contacted me about my self-created building plans and the result of my building application for the DIY hobbit houses. Did they pass all the structural checks and regulations, or will I need to start again and re-submit them ...
